With them we can understand the quality of the product obtained and therefore we can know if the extractive variables have been effective, to obtain certain compounds of interest. The analyzes are both qualitative and quantitative and are used to obtain the <strong>chemical characterization<\/strong> of the extract and titolation in <strong>active substances<\/strong>. In particular, some basic parameters are: lipid profile of fatty acids and triglycerides, percentage and characterization of unsaponifiable fraction, quantification of peroxides and some quality indexes of oils, such as acidity. To cite two examples of these methods, the following methods can be carried out:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><u> UV \/ VIS spectrophotometry<\/u>:<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-6507 alignleft\" src=\"http:\/\/exeniagroup.it\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/02\/Spettrofonometria-300x224.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"224\" srcset=\"https:\/\/exeniagroup.it\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/02\/Spettrofonometria-300x224.jpg 300w, https:\/\/exeniagroup.it\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/02\/Spettrofonometria-600x448.jpg 600w, https:\/\/exeniagroup.it\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/02\/Spettrofonometria.jpg 640w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/>The methodology that analyzes the <strong>absorbance<\/strong> of a solution, by means of a beam of light with visible and ultraviolet wavelengths, to understand which chemical compounds are dissolved in it. According to the Lambert-Beer law, absorbance is a magnitude that relates the amount of light absorbed to the concentration of solutes in solution. Going to examine the refractive spectrum of a solution at different wavelengths, you can understand which types of compounds are dissolved inside and, above all, also their quantity.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><u>HPLC (High-Performance Liquid Chromatography)<\/u>:<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-6509 alignright\" src=\"http:\/\/exeniagroup.it\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/02\/HPLC-300x167.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"167\" srcset=\"https:\/\/exeniagroup.it\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/02\/HPLC-300x167.jpg 300w, https:\/\/exeniagroup.it\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/02\/HPLC-1024x570.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/exeniagroup.it\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/02\/HPLC-768x428.jpg 768w, https:\/\/exeniagroup.it\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/02\/HPLC-1536x855.jpg 1536w, https:\/\/exeniagroup.it\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/02\/HPLC-2048x1140.jpg 2048w, https:\/\/exeniagroup.it\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/02\/HPLC-600x334.jpg 600w, https:\/\/exeniagroup.it\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/02\/HPLC.jpg 1600w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/>Using this chromatographic technique it is possible to obtain a separation of the solutes contained in a mobile phase, exploiting the affinity of the latter for a particular stationary phase. A substance more akin to the stationary phase than to the mobile phase takes longer to travel the chromatographic column (retention time), compared to a substance with a low affinity for the stationary phase and high for the mobile phase.<\/p>\n<p>At the end of the column, there is a <strong>detector<\/strong> and a computerized <strong>calculator<\/strong> that allow continuous and real-time analysis from the column exit. In doing so, qualification and quantification of all solutes is obtained.
